Laurinburg Church of God of Prophecy

In the year 1944, Brother G. A. Watts erected a tent in East Laurinburg in a place referred to as the Pecan Orchard, with the thought in mind to organize the Church of God.  At the close of a revival in 1946, the church was set in order with ten charter members.  Property was purchased on Highway 401 in North Laurinburg and a church was erected.  Later, a lot was purchased nearby on Warren Avenue on which a parsonage was erected.  Several years later lots were purchased on Lee's Mill Rd. in Laurinburg where a new block church was built.  Great improvements have been made over the years -- such as:  adding a fellowship hall, completely bricking the church building, carpeting the sanctuary, installing central heat and air conditioning, padding the church pews, purchasing additonal property, expanding the fellowsip hall and building a fenced in playground and volleyball court.  God's blessings upon this church have been numerous and we are expecting  more of his blessings in the future.
